Rules engine and AI

From raw punches
to payable hours.

The engine rebuilds the days, applies each employee’s statutory and agreement rules and feeds counters and payroll items in real time. AI spots errors before payroll, explains why and lets a human decide.

Simulator

An afternoon shift ending late: nine hours counted.

An operator scheduled from 2 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. badges at 1:56, 6:00, 6:30 and 11:34 p.m. Change the times or pick an example: the day recalculates.

Teaching simulation using a post’s default rules: early arrival not counted without a request, departure rounded down to the quarter hour, unpaid break. At a client, each rule is configurable (rounding, tolerances, breaks, collective agreement premiums).

    Rules engine

A combination of rules, not development.

    Six steps per day

    1. Pairing: entries and exits linked, duplicates merged, reference day set (night shifts, midnight).
    2. Comparison with plan: schedule, theoretical hours, absences, public holidays.
    3. Qualification: normal work, overtime, night, Sunday, holiday, on-call, travel, training.
    4. Client rules: rounding, tolerances, breaks, caps, premiums.
    5. Legal checks: 10 h, 48 h, 11 h, 44 h, breaks, minors, reference period thresholds.
    6. Posting: counters, register and payroll items.

Simulation before activation: before a rule goes live (new agreement, new POT), the engine replays it on past months and quantifies the impact per employee.

    AI under human control

AI decides nothing: it spots, explains and suggests.
